California - it seems they have bowed to pressure from the rest of the Anglicans and not elected a gay bishop. Or perhaps they wouldn't have elected one anyway. I wonder if people would have accused them of being biased even if they had elected this guy because they actually thought he would be the best person for the job. What do I care anyway? They aren't even proper Catholics! They made a DEAL with the Protestant scum! I doubt if Integra likes them either, for being half-Catholic. Still, it's an... interesting... issue. I actually heard this through two sources - the Church, and an English (rolls eyes) program called 'Heaven and Earth'. It was being shown on cable. I only mention it because they said that the Catholics are actually more liberal on the matter than the Protestants. WTF! Believe me, we are not liberal. On matters like dealing with the infidels it's something I'm proud of. Not so much here, due to my own... mitigating circumstances shall we say. At the risk of sounding hopelessly hypocritical, I will now poke fun at Integra for being intolerant.

Easter is a good time of year for us at the Vatican, although I suppose that depends on whether or not you're the one doing the organising, which I am not. I would have liked to be giving a service, but I've only been allowed to ever do that once. They're just jealous of my talent. I'm not too bothered though; those bishop's robes really itch. |

Well, I'm finally back from my 'holiday'. It wasn't quite so relaxing as it promised to be at the start, but I think I've probably learned something important from it. It's not all worked out yet, but I hope it will be soon.Current Mood: tired

Like I said, I've been thinking... I'm not entirely sure I like the direction they're taking me in, but what other choice do I have? I can't deny the truth. I wish Anderson was here. He's the only person I can talk to about things like this, and yet at the same time, perhaps its better that he isn't here. I don't think I could stand the temptation... But I suspect he knows already. After all, he jokes about it sometimes doesn't he. Why does it all feel so right and wrong at the same time? Isn't enough that we kill for God, he has to curse - or bless - me with this as well! This stupid, reckless longing for Anderson that fills me every time I think of him! I've always buried it before beneath the demands of my work, but now I can't! And do I even want to keep it buried any more? I suppose I ought to say too what prompted this in the first place. I was out walking in the town, enjoying the sights and sounds, and I was approached by one of the locals. It turned out he was a rent boy. Hah, he obviously had no idea who I was or I doubt he'd have come anywhere near me. One long sermon to him, and I was walking away feeling very satisfied, except... for a little niggling thought in the back of my head that spawned other thoughts... I feel such a hypocrite. Oh Anderson...Current Mood: distressed

Ahhh, it's good to get away from the stresses of work. I am now in Cancun, Mexico, lounging around in the sun and playing games on my laptop. As Anderson told me, the people are indeed very friendly here. Extremely so. I've had lot more time to think here. There are some rather unusual conclusions I'm coming to... More on this later. |

*stretches lazily* Well, I can say I've had a better day today than most. I've had that sword training with Anderson several times now, and I believe it's going to become a permenant engagement. It's a hell of a lot of fun. *laughs* And I certainly haven't had that much exercise in a while. I'm obviously a little out of shape. There is one thing to be said for Pope Ratzinger, he does try and keep our paper work down. Unlike some previous Popes, he appreciates the value of our work, and in particular he is in favour of our rather more radical measures.
